Managing partner reading the morning brief on a laptop

How one small law firm checks five systems in one morning brief.

Five tabs before the first coffee. Now one email.

A three-partner firm with two staff. The managing partner runs intake and marketing on top of his own caseload, which used to mean opening Google Ads, Analytics, HubSpot, LinkedIn and his inbox every morning to find out what happened overnight. A SureThing AI assistant reads them for him now.

This is a real SureThing workflow. We set it up with the managing partner and wrote it down here. Names and visuals are recreated; the steps, the screenshots and the numbers are theirs.

Twenty minutes of tabs, and the lead was always last.

Before SureThing, the managing partner started every day with the same loop: ads dashboard, analytics, the CRM for new leads, LinkedIn for the firm's posts, then the inbox. Twenty minutes on a good day, and the thing that actually needed him, a lead two days unanswered, was usually the last one he found.

Five systems in. One brief out. He reads it once.

Connect five systems

Ads, analytics, leads, social and inbox connect once. The routine reads each of them every weekday before 7am; nobody exports anything, and nothing is written back without him.

Tuesday 6:58am · five sources, synced before he's up

One brief, 7:30 every weekday

At 7:30 one email: what changed overnight in each system, one line each, plain English, worst first. Four minutes to read. Anything that needs a decision is flagged at the top.

Tuesday 7:30am · the brief, five lines, two flagged

Know what needs you

Each flagged item comes with a drafted next step: a reply, an assignment, a note to the associate. He approves it or changes it. The rest of the brief is just knowing.

Tuesday 7:31am · the reply, drafted from the lead's own message

What one week actually looked like.

Two DUI leads had sat since Sunday. Both replies were drafted at the top of the brief. He approved one, changed the time on the other, and both consults were booked before 9am.

The brief noted the DUI page was up 40% for the week and the ad cost per lead had dropped. He forwarded the two lines to his partner with one sentence: keep the budget. That was the whole marketing meeting.

He tried.

ChatGPT can summarize a report you paste into it. It can't open five systems at 7am, notice that a lead has waited two days, or draft a reply from the lead's own message. The routine can, because it sits inside those systems with read access and nothing more.

The point isn't the summary. It's that he never has to go looking.

What still needs a human.

The first week, the brief flagged every LinkedIn comment as needing him; he told it once which ones matter and it stopped. An ads number was off for two days after Google changed a report format, and the brief said so rather than guessing. And it never decides which cases to take or what to say to opposing counsel. That stays his.

The firm has been running this for 8 weeks. 5 systems. 1 routine. 40 briefs. 47 items flagged, every reply sent after he read it.
